Academy FAQ

What do I need to consider when travelling by plane with the Accu-Chek® Solo tubeless patch pump system?

In general, the Accu-Chek® Solo tubeless patch pump can be used on planes. As some airlines prohibit the use of wireless technologies, accustom yourself to the Quick Bolus buttons before you travel, as you may need to activate the system's flight mode.

At most airports, security personal today knows about insulin pumps. Still, it is advisable to carry a (multilingual, at least English) letter by your physician that explains that you need the pump, its supplies, insulin, and other diabetes related supplies in your hand luggage. Do carry your diabetes related supplies in your hand luggage, as you may need them on the flight and check-in luggage may get lost.

Remember that the Accu-Chek® Solo system may not be available in your destination, so plan accordingly.
